New Wave of Covid-19 in Thailand
Effective from 18 April 2021 – the latest zone-specific restrictions will likely be in place in Thailand for two weeks. There has been no announcement for curfew or a lockdown. The government will evaluate the situation based on the number of new infections after two weeks.
Thailand Government is asking people to limit their travel, particularly to red zone provinces.
18 provinces have been classified as “highly controlled areas” or “red zone” while the remaining 59 provinces have been classified as controlled areas or ‘orange zone’.
What is happening next? Thailand is currently vaccinating this population with Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines. Recently, the government is rushing to buy 5 million to 10 million doses from Pfizer to secure adequate supplies of coronavirus vaccine to inoculate its population.
