Nepal Starts Administering Chinese Vero Cell Vaccines

Nepal has started inoculating its citizens with 800,000 doses of Vero Cell vaccines since April 7, 2021. The Chinese-manufactured vaccine is being administered to frontline workers, traders working in Sino-Nepal borders, students going to study in China as well as to people employed in the trekking and tourism industry, internet services, and advertising. Other target population includes professors, vegetable/fruit vendors, pharmacists and drivers of public vehicles. The government of Nepal has designated 12 hospitals and health centers to administer the Vero Cell vaccines.
The administration of the second dose of the Covishield by AstraZeneca and Oxford University will begin on 20th April 2021.
