COVID-19 Situation and Vaccination Update: Laos

As of February 2021, no Covid-19 related deaths have been reported in Laos since the beginning of the pandemic. Furthermore, there are no current ongoing cases in Laos hospitals. No new Covid-19 cases have been reported in the last few weeks.
Laos began vaccinations for over 600 medical workers, led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, in late January, 2021. The country has received 2,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines from China, while the Russian government provided a shipment of 500 doses of its “Sputnik V” Covid-19 vaccine.
Restrictions are currently still in place as Laos awaits the delivery of 564,000 doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine soon.
